March 20, 2014Can this really be? New Zealand Opens Cardboard Cathedral after the 2011 Earthquake!! When the 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck New Zealand’s second largest city of Christ Church in 2011, the original beautiful Christ Church Cathedral collapsed. A Japanese Architect was chosen to design a new but temporary Cathedral. This new Building is constructed from card-board tubes, in a simple A-frame structure. It can hold 700 worshipers. There is a stained glass window at the one end. its design life is 50 years! For more information and photos click on the below link.
